El Paso, TX – Interested in taking a self-defense class? Most people say they’re interested in learning how to protect themselves “just in case” but never actually take the time to learn the skills they need.
Now, there is no excuse!
Total Defense – El Paso is offering a FREE Sexual Assault and Abduction Prevention Seminar on Saturday, February 4th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as part of their Grand Opening event at their expanded location at 1060 Doniphan Park Circle.
What You Can Expect
At this seminar, you will be introduced to Krav Maga (unarmed self-defense) techniques and learn key strategies to prevent an attack.
“The primary tactic we teach is how to use ‘strong stance, strong voice, strong eyes’ so women are empowered to confront their attacker with confidence and strength,” says Jonathan Kuntsmann, an instructor at Total Defense.
Although the focus of the seminar is on attack prevention, you will learn attack techniques, including punching, kicking, and grabbing. You will also learn counter-attack methods, including how to release yourself from a chokehold.
“If an attack does ensue, we will teach you the skills you need to combat and, most importantly, escape the situation,” says Kuntsmann.
The seminar with culminate with a fake attack, where students can practice what they’ve learned in a realistic setting.
Who Should Attend
This seminar is open to women and girls of all ages, and is most popular among teenage girls transitioning from high school to college. All skill levels are welcome, including those who have been attacked before, those who want to refresh their self-defense techniques, and those who are just beginning their training.
